Revolución!

I went to the british museum last weekend. I really wanted to see the exhibition about revolutionary graphics in Mexico starting around 1910 till 1960. Emiliano Zapata is the hero of the exhibition. Many artist worked for the national news paper, books, propaganda, making amazing artwork. Mexicans have a very distinctive style. They have a magic, scary intriguing touch. I saw some work of Jose Guadalupe Posada, Carlos Merida, Alfredo Zalce and many others. Cool guys! Hasta la vista!

BIG DAY=BIG POST !!

YATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Big day=Big post.

It is now 2 o'clock in the morning and I'm almost ready for the big final. You can see here what happened at Uni the last weeks. I've been working on this project untitled: "Make the world seem a better place". We went threw a whole process. First we had to choose a space that we deemed boring, uninteresting, ugly, mundane...
As Graphic designer we had to create something that could give to this place a bit of interest.

I decided to make some " street art! Yo!" I wanted to make an illustration which would tell a story in the space i choosed. To make it a little bit more interesting i decided to use paper to illustrate my story. I love the contrast between the rough, cold street with the fragile and warmth of the paper.

I though it could make an interesting effect that people would notice and be touch about it.

For the story i choosed a fable from Jean Delafontaine : The Crow and the Fox. I like his fables because they short, poetic and have a moral at the end which makes it kind of educative.

Tomorrow i will shoot my work into the street...

I will post the final outcome very soon! Be patient.

Letterpress

Big time for me! I was really looking foward to learn how to use Letterpress. I though it was much more complicated and actually you just have to be very patient. I loved opening all the draws of the workshop. There are a lot of treasures hiding there. I'm already thinking of many projects i could do with it. We are designing this poster about Helvetica. I will post it very soon on my blog.
